KEEP IT GOING – THANK YOU!

WOW! I am speechless. We have already reached our goal for ‘Orange Moon!’ Thank you to all of you who pledged. I can’t believe in only 26 hours we did this. You mean to world to me. Leila would be SO PROUD! : )

BUT its still not too late to pledge, it dosen’t stop until March 4th. We still have a lot of time to surpass this goal!  This way we can increase the amount of shirts and CDs we make! All of it will go towards making this entire project even better than I ever imagined! I love you all so much, you had me in tears this morning. None of this would be at all possible without you!

Also, an enormous thank you to Bob Foret, Leila’s father for pledging $500 dollars! What a great daddy Leila has. She would be so excited to see all of this unfolding.

So, keep the love flowing ’til March 4th at 11:45PM.

I sincerely cannot thank you enough.

All my love,

Alexis

MANIC MONDAY MIS-ADVENTURE

Monday night’s show was exquisite! We had a wonderful audience (including one very famous one, but we’ll get to that in a moment), incredible performers and Three Muses is a must see venue! Very classy, indeed.

I had myself, what Sam likes to call a Mis-adventure. I would have to agree, but in the end I would have to say it was a pretty awesome night!

MY MANIC MONDAY MIS-ADVENTURE:

After playing our second set of the night, which by then I had a few Chardonnays in me… Wine tends to loosen me up on stage, so I can crack more dorky jokes and only feel half dweeby. Banter in between songs can be a tough thing for some people and I’m one of them, so I love at least one glass of funny tasting grape juice before I hit the stage.

Anyway, after our second set we packed up our gear and one of my dear friends (and a lot of them were there, shout out, I LOVE Y’ALL!) came up to me and said, “So, did you see him?” I was pretty delirious at this point and asked who she was talking about. She says: “Joseph Gordon-Levitt, you know, INCEPTION GUY!” I say: “AHHHH! What!?  He was here?”

Apparently, Joseph Gordon-Levitt was at my entire set, the whole shebang! And silly me had no idea. I blame it on getting too wrapped up in the songs I’m singing, I call it my little bubble. I close my eyes and drift off into another world. I swear, sometimes I think a marching band could march right through the venue, LOUD AND CLEAR and little ‘ole me will just keep on strumming that guitar.

By the time I found out this famous heart-throb was there, he was gone with wind. Hasta la vista! Then a friend of mine texted me saying he was at Apple Barrel or DBA, two venues right down the way, so I told her I’d meet her there. I get to Apple Barrel and it is completely empty, except for this guy playing his guitar and an older man leaning against the wall listening. The guitarist said, “Hey there, looking for someone?” I said: “Yeah I just left my gig to find a friend.” He says “OH YOU PLAY! Play us a tune!” At this point I’m thinking “Well, what the hell?!” So, I start playing a song. A few people come in from off the street to listen. I finish up, say thanks, drop a dollar in the tip jar and head across to DBA, still looking for my friend and the famous stud.

I get to the door and the door guy lets me in for free after assuming I’m a musician, don’t ask me how he knew…

I don’t see them anywhere so I decide to stay and dance for one song (I got in for free!..I might as well stay and make it worth while, right?). Glenn David Andrews was playing and oh how I love me some good ‘ole New Orleans Brass Band. I danced for a song and then headed back to Three Muses. Sam sees me enter and says to me giggling: “Guess who’s back!?” Low and behold the Angels and the Outfield star and his buddies are back. He gives me a glance from across the room and my night is complete.

Needless to say it was a very FUN night! Thank you to all of you who came out and participated in fun fest!

Next up KICKSTARTER! We will be launching our video to explain it all this weekend!

Love you,

-A

CD RELEASE SHOW – WE NEED YOUR HELP!

HELLO!

Orange Moon is finally done! It has been a long and joyous process and I’m elated with the final product!

We have set a date for the CD release show and I could not be happier!

It will be on April 2nd, 2011 at the beautiful One Eyed Jack’s! We will have our lovely and oh so talented friends Sun Hotel on the bill and we are working on the the third act.

Now is the time that I need YOUR help. We will be trying to raise some money for the pressing of “Orange Moon.” Pressing, meaning to make the physical copies of the album. We will be doing it through a website called Kickstarter.com. This company allows you to set a budget and if you reach your goal within a certain amount of days, the artist gets the money with no strings attached.

Its a really cool company because with every dollar you give you get something in return, whether it be a free download, a shirt an album, sticker or all of the above! However if we don’t reach the goal by the end of the 30 days no money comes out of your account and life goes on.

So, with this being said I will be launching my Kickstarter account in the next few days and anything you can donate will be incredibly appreciated. If everyone we know that enjoys our music donated  five or ten dollars or more we will reach the goal in no time! And don’t forget, you get something out of it too!

I will keep you posted through the whole process! Thanks for all the support and I hope to see all of you at CD release on April 2nd at OEJ’s!

Love,

Alexis Daisy
